Norpro V-Slicer Grater Mandoline - White, One Size - With Safety Guard Holder Review

I bought this because I like grating onions but I need a holder to protect it. The protective holder is not that good. Cuts well but not grates as well.

I bought this mainly because I love sweet potato fries. It worked great. I boiled the potatoes a little, then sliced and baked. so fast

This is a replacement for a cheaper basic mandolin. it's a Cadillac compared to my previous one. Slices everything easily and I love how easy I can change the thickness just by turning the knob and the fries/julienne are the same but with a twist.

So far I've only used a straight blade, with and without a dicing knife. The dicing blades sticking out of the deck didn't do that well at slicing the onions I was working with. I also found that cleaning under the rotation of the dice faces was a bit of a hassle because they don't come loose. Overall it's a lot more versatile than the last one we had from OXO.

I received an OXO with a manufacturing defect that takes 6-8 weeks to replace. I ordered this to use while waiting and wish I had just ordered it for the first time. The way you set the slice thickness is way better than OXO and what was faulty I got from (another seller), not Norpro. IF YOU TRY THIS YOU WILL LOVE IT. I PROMISE.
