WARNING - Highside coupling is defective

I made the top and bottom connections very simple. But time to take the buzz off, I couldn't even put it down with my grippy gloves on. I had to fight it for 15 minutes, losing freon the whole time trying to get rid of it. I examined the pair and saw nothing wrong. I thought maybe it wouldn't come out at more than 175psi...? I connected to another car that wasn't running and it connected with no problem and showed just over 100psi. I tried to uninstall and couldn't... it was another 15 minute…

Large set of pressure gauges and 5ft hoses.

Years ago I did home air conditioning and used Yellow Jacket gauges. I gave them to my son for his work and so far I have not needed the sensors to work with my old car's air conditioning. This gauge set is just as good for a lot less money. Of course I will only use them occasionally, not every day. I've always hated short hoses and this kit comes with 5ft hoses which is exactly what I like. There are no leakage problems, they seal normally. The high side adapter is difficult to remove unless…

Wrong T-connector adapter, reading Celsius instead of Fahrenheit

As others have said, the adapter that came with it will not work with the T-connectors you buy in the store. Threads don't line up. You are dead in your tracks. So you should be more clear about the fact that the included adapter doesn't work. The second surprise was that the gauges are in Celsius, not Fahrenheit. I may not have noticed this when I ordered it so make sure you order the correct type you need. I was contacted by Mfg for my two complaints: I needed the Celsius version, it's my…

NO AIR OUTLET FROM THE FREON LINE

Moisture causes a leak in the air conditioning system. They create a vacuum in the system to remove any moisture that may be in the device. Then the correct way to add freon is to connect the refrigerant to the yellow hose and through the connector connected to your gauges, remove all the air remaining in the hose until the refrigerant starts to splatter. Make sure there is no moisture in the line. These pressure gauges do not include this valve and are therefore not suitable for filling…

Fast connection is very bad

This all happened when I used it for the second time. A ball bearing fell off the bottom of the quick coupler. The high side quick connector leaked when stuck. It did not disengage from the clutch, and about 12 ounces of r134a and about an ounce of Motorcraft RY-32 supercharger oil were fired from it at $35 per ounce supplied. I had to buy an oil nozzle for $57, replacement quick disconnects with on/off handles for $22, and two ounces of RY-32 for $68. That's a total of $147 that I had to spend

Pros
  • Stable results when testing

  • No automatic

Good value for money; As others have pointed out, it's not perfect

I had a gauge set sold by NAPA that lasted about ten years; After a while the fittings wore out, the hoses snapped in places and I dropped it which bent one side of the gauge. I decided to buy this cheap set rather than repair my branded set because I seem to be pretty picky. I recently used it to vacuum and fill the system. The hoses and distributor appear to be of decent quality. The gauge bodies are plastic, but the readings are easy to read and seem more or less accurate. As others have…
