Not submersible!: External accessories

I was planning on using them on a boat trailer so I put one in a glass of water first. The inside of the hull quickly filled with water. It continued to work (and continues to work after a day), but even if the LEDs don't stop working, the lens (inside) becomes cloudy from debris in the water. This is NOT a boat trailer light. The brightness is good for a marker light and the wires are strong enough to hold up; but it is not sealed.

Pay attention to the gap between the wires.

Note that even the lamps are small, the wires running from the back are separated by a gap that may require a hole larger than 3/8 inch. I have a trailer with 3/8" holes and I should have made holes that were about 1/2" larger. I didn't want to do that because my trailer was already machined and painted. Due to the cord spacing of other lights, I calculated 3/8" more. than reasonable. Well, not for these lights, so I decided to just return them and keep looking for the right ones.

Durable and bright best trailer accessory

These bulbs are brighter than the bulbs they replace. The bond between lens and substrate appears to be very strong. Some of my lights are bend mounted with 1/4" neoprene gasket. I was able to tighten them securely with just a few sheet metal and plastic screws. Bases are not cracked. Time and UV will tell how they hold up, but they do are a good start. The reason I gave it 4 stars is that the wires come out of the base plate about 3/8" apart, so I need to enlarge my existing wiring holes. It…

They look great and are very easy to combine.

Last weekend I installed these LED lights on a trailer bed. They look great and are super easy to put together with some strippers, heat shrink, zip ties and a cordless drill. I used #8 screws to mount them. The white wire is grounded (a pin on the 4-wire trailer connector) and the black wire must be connected to the brake, turn signal and parking light wires.
