PORTER-CABLE 333VS Sander Hook And Loop Pad, Compatible with 5 or 8-Hole Sanding (13909) Review

This replacement pad only lasted 6 months. The velcro isn't holding the sandpaper anymore so I think it's time to get rid of that sander. I used it maybe 15 days. If the standard pads don't last longer, it's not worth repairing the grinder again.

My eccentric grinders and angle grinders have "gone out of control" so to speak. The foam pad that holds the Velcro sandpaper has decayed and disintegrated due to age. I received both replacement pads and both grinders were repaired quickly and easily. The tools are back online and working great!

My brother-in-law borrowed my sander and didn't notice the sandpaper fell off. He proceeded to loop his part with velcro. It didn't work for the piece or my tool. I checked out a few local shops and when none had I gave up. It was a year ago. Then someone at work suggested I try Amazon. So happy I did. I'm so glad my grinder is back. It works like new. Couldn't be happier.

The PC grinder is a very decent tool, but a word of caution: don't order too many extra pads! Interior foam inserts have a limited shelf life. A brand new (but aged) unused gasket will fall apart or disintegrate. When I grabbed the last of several stored in the back of the cabinet (3 years old) it immediately fell apart during installation. I was surprised! Also, these aren't cheap things. Apparently Porter Cable's R&D department hasn't done their homework.

I didn't realize I needed to have one on hand until my sanding pad fell off during use after years of infrequent but heavy use. Good old Revain had it in stock and got it to my door in two days instead of having to look around town. I don't know what the people who had problems with the glue were talking about, maybe they had the wrong discs. It's the same as the original and my windows have to be ripped off by force. The original pad of my 15 year old PC grinder is finally obsolete. The grinder itself still works but I wanted to scrap it as a local replacement plate costs almost as much as a new grinder. For the online price, it's worth reviving the grinder. Installation is easy as only three screws need to be removed. Some of the other reviewers complained about the need to relocate the mounting screws. I haven't had this problem as my grinder has through holes which means the screws can't go all the way…

I have an old Porter Cable 333VS random orbit sander that has been sitting in a drawer for about 10 years. The main bearing seized and blew it off to be replaced but never got around to ordering parts again.
