Excellent Charger: Power & Hand Tools

The entire Porter-Cable system was amazing. The battery lasts several hours without recharging and we are very satisfied with its performance.

Works great with my Porter cordless drill

Works great with my Porter cordless drill. The Pack and Load staff left the drill at my house, so all I needed was the charger.

Pros
  • Free for educational purposes
Cons

The Fastest 20V PC Charger

This is my second Rapid charger (one for the home and one for the garage). It's much faster than the other two 20V PC chargers I've had. A wide range of 20V PC tools is much better than having to run an extension cord to your workstation.

Pros
  • Absolutely Amazing!
Cons
  • There are defects

Rapid charger in batteries and chargers

This model is a fast charger and works a lot better than the nifty thing that Porter Cable now ships with its products. My only complaint is that there is no way to hang it up as there are no mounting holes on the bottom of the charger. I guess the Chinese engineers want a little revenge on us.

Pros
  • All right!
Cons
  • Ugly packaging

This is the third fast charger I've bought. Always satisfied

I have duplicates and triplets of almost every Porter Cable 20v MAX tool. We use them every day on our backyard farm and also in our furniture store. This is the third fast charger I've bought. Always happy with them, that's no different.

Pros
  • Great for a small home
Cons
  • Great price

Good charger, questionable design.

Nice but damn Porter-Cable, can't you have a guy tape it to a bench or wall for once? Even my old B&D 24V charger has a "through hole" to attach it to. Two hands are required every time you have to click on the battery to charge it. one holds the battery, the other ensures the charging base stays in place. Pooh.

Pros
  • Hands free
Cons
  • Almost never

Fits Price Class

I'm a contractor and used a Porter cable for a while before switching to Dewalt. I got this fast charger hoping it would compete with Dewalt but unfortunately I was a bit disappointed. I think you get what you pay for, the twins are in a higher price bracket and my batteries themselves might be to blame but I felt they didn't charge as quickly compared to them. Since then my porter cable batteries have failed after extensive use in construction. I find this to be a great option for the…

Bought September 2017, bugs as of July 2018

I bought these in September 2017 to quickly top up the batteries with a standard charger for two when renovating my grandma's house. I could get two dozen uses from it, max. After months of not using it, yesterday (July 8th 2018) I used it to charge some batteries and as soon as I plugged it in with no connections I got a fast blinking reading light. Well, according to the instructions and the icon on the front panel, a fast flashing red light indicates a battery failure. Again, this happens…

does not turn off completely

Cable overview Porter "Quick” charger (PCC692L). Removing the battery from the charger briefly when the light comes on and then putting it back in will recharge it for about another minuet. I estimate the battery is at about 98% this time. The fact is that if you leave the battery in the charger for an hour or more after the indicator lights up, and then remove and reinsert the battery, the charging indicator will light up immediately. According to the owner's manual, this charger is a "service
