My slices of bread have always been crooked because I can't cut a loaf straight. It helps a lot. I still have to be careful to get a firm grip on the bread, but even when I try to cut freshly baked bread with my hands, it works quite well.

This makes slicing your homemade bread that little bit easier. It took me a second to figure out the setup as there are no instructions. The back slides a lot and you have to hold it with your hand to keep it upright. The slits don't go all the way so you'll have to trim a bit after you're done, but overall the product is good. .

Still learning how to make it work for me. I wasn't very good with my first bread, but I learned what not to do! The first few slices were just ridiculously wrong, but as I progressed I learned to line up the knife and the last half of the loaf came out nice and straight. I love that all the crumbs are collected and the serving tray is nice too. I look forward to cutting the bagels straight!

Pros: Good quality, easy to clean, fits in limited storage space Cons: Guide rails are not high enough for a bread machine sized loaf. White bread with a crispier crust is very difficult because the guides are almost an inch below the top of the bread. The thinnest slices work well with harder breads (Italian, French, etc.) but are too thin for softer breads. The design is decent except I wouldn't have bought it knowing the guides are too short for my bread loaves.

I bought this particular bread slicer because I realized it weighed more than the others and thought it would be stronger. I am very satisfied with this bread slicer. Bamboo is durable and well made. The bottom is very good and can make a good tray on its own. The pages stay in place and the knife that comes with it is of good quality. Folds up great and is very easy to clean. If you're having trouble with your hands, look elsewhere. Thin slices are tricky, but if you like thicker slices, you can. If you are small it is also very difficult to see the knife falling and this can lead to false slices (over 5ft 4in or larger). It's nice and simple, but unfortunately it doesn't help me much.
