Make sure you buy the right size!

I bought this for an outdoor wedding and was excited to use it except that the site was not specific that it came in different sizes for different heel widths. If you are unfamiliar with this product, you would not know it came in three sizes: Narrow, Classic, Wide. It would be useful if it was provided as an option during the purchase to select a different width. So make sure you select the right one before purchasing. I think it would have worked if I had received the right size.

Pros
  • June 11, 2009
Cons
  • May not be compatible with all heel types

Fits great, not too noticeable, feels sturdy

Surprised at how easily these went on, no fuss, and fit perfect! They kind of snap into place and fit snugly so they don't move when I walk around. Unless you're up close, you don't really notice the protectors much which is good because I put them on the heels I'm wearing with my tea length wedding dress! The plastic is flexible enough to form around the heel and fit snugly, but the bottom is thick and rigid with little lines on the bottom for added traction. Really good product overall!

Pros
  • Solemates
Cons
  • Takes away the natural feel of the shoe

Superb product for heels!

I used my high heel protectors on my skinny heels for the first time this weekend. I was amazed at how I didn't sink into the hay strewn parking lot or into the lawn at the wedding site. These protectors really made me feel comfortable about walking all over the lawn. NO worries about sinking, feeling off balance, or falling. Plus, the pre-installation directions were extremely useful. I warmed the protectors with my hands and made them pliable as directed. They were a tight fit, but well worth

Pros
  • Adjustable fitting to accommodate individual heel widths
Cons
  • May stick to flooring or other surfaces when walking

Measure the Heel - my new review

My solemates fit perfectly. I just measured the tip of the heel and ordered the solemate according to the product guide. I wore my heels to an outdoor wedding and they worked beautifully. I didn’t sink into the lawn and my heels were clean when I got home.

Pros
  • Classic design will blend seamlessly with any style of high heel
Cons
  • May cause the heel to become too slippery

Good for Gravel in my review

I wish I had know that this product existed years ago, I've scraped up so many of my heels over time walking on uneven pavement, gravel-like surfaces that includes cracks, grates, etc. in the pavement. I'm not a fan of wearing sneakers with my dress clothes and suits to work so putting these on my heels instead is a big help. I bought the narrow ones and they fit perfectly well. I didn't notice any difference in walking. My only negative is that they don't seem to be the most high-quality and…

Pros
  • Clear and discreet, your high heels will look as good as new
Cons
  • May not last as long as expected

Worked as advertised

I bought a pair of these for my sister's wedding, which had an outdoor ceremony. I got the classic size, which fit my normal heels just fine (I was too lazy to measure, but it sounds like that is the way to go if you are nervous about sizing). I had no problems with getting them on the shoe - they snapped on quite snugly - or with sinking during the pictures and ceremony. It hadn't rained in quite some time, so the ground was very firm and I thought that I might not have sunk regardless, but…

Pros
  • Lightweight and unobtrusive, you'll forget they're there
Cons
  • May not blend in with all shoe colors

I wanted to protect the heel of my shoes when .

I wanted to protect the heel of my shoes when I went out to take engagement photos. I didn't test them out on grass so I have no idea if they would work in that capacity. But they got a couple hours use and did what I wanted them to, which was prevent my heel from getting chewed up while I walked around. In that they were successful, however I did notice that they had twisted around so the back of the heel cover was facing front. This might be resolved by using a smaller heel cover size. But…

Pros
  • Longer lasting protection than traditional heel caps
Cons
  • Can decrease the overall value of the shoe

Bought these for an outdoor wedding

I bought these for an outdoor wedding to help me walk and stand in the grass for photos but despite measuring the spike on my heels, these did not fit. They constantly wiggled and made it nearly impossible to walk so I ended up not using them at all. I really wanted these to work, such a great idea.

Pros
  • 5 x 5 x 0.7 inches; 1.6 Ounces
Cons
  • May interfere with the natural flex of the sole
