Worked as expected with some skill issues.

Offers performance and is easy to set up. During the third assembly, the hinge pins of the support legs have already fallen out. If it weren't for the paved campsite, the bolts might not have been found. The main purpose of this item is to leave it in the sun. Consider not using double-sided tape to attach the charge controller to the device (try).

Pros
  • Excellent overall performance
Cons
  • Almost never

Great standalone power!

We bought a Renogy 200watt Eclipse solar kit for our suitcase to limit the use of our generator when camping. This device was so efficient that it could fully charge our lead-acid batteries in about an hour with two computers and a large monitor powered by an inverter and phones charged. We chose 200W instead of 100W to provide enough power for the fans that can draw battery power. Constantly put out about 12 amps. We also bought 20ft extensions to fit either side of the rig. The controls are…

Confusing customization/poor quality control.

Snaps broken right out of the box. Inconsistencies between what I received and what was suggested in the Voyager manual. "Never connect the solar panel to the controller before the battery" - the panel/controller is hardwired. The schematic shows a 30A fuse on the positive line between the panel and the controller - this was not provided. The schematic shows a 30A fuse between the controller and the battery - a 15A fuse is included. Not to mention the 16 foot cables I bought from Renogy are 14…

Solid, high-quality elements, smallest 100 W case panel currently available.

The packaging is high quality, which to me is a sign of a high quality product. The stable cover with zip protects the panels very well. The panel didn't take long to install and about 15 minutes after opening the box I was charging the battery in my RV. As I believe in build quality and durability I did a pretty thorough inspection when I received it. The clasps are strong and firmly attached to the case. A nice touch is the spring-loaded handle that folds snugly to the body. One thing I…

An economical way to keep your RV batteries charged at Boandock.

Bought for use with my campervan when roaming. Test run last week, five days in NASCAR. We spent 5 full days in broadcasting. The Renogy Solar case was great, one of the best additions we've ever made. I ran it daily Wednesday through Saturday, plugged it in in the morning and turned it off once the sun went down. On our last day I didn't use solar at all. The difference was significant. When we used solar power, we ran our generator for a maximum of 30 to 60 minutes every morning and a maximum

Pros
  • Free for educational purposes
Cons
  • Mostly good but...

I just got this system from Revain and it turned out to be a very good system. Easy to move and set up with case and built-in stand. For a short time I had 12.7 volts and 12 amps at around 150 watts. However, the alligator connector included in the system has a 10 amp fuse which of course blew with 12 amps flowing through it. It's hard to understand why Renogy would provide a 10 amp battery to a 200 watt system with a 20 amp controller delivering >12 amps. I emailed Renogy customer service…

No generator noise! Unlocks many camping options!

It did an excellent job of keeping three deep cycle batteries charged throughout our 10 day hike. I don't have an inverter so we just used the 12 volt systems in our 5 wheel RV. There was a 3 day period where it was raining and the batteries were down to 50% or less. The solar panels brought them back to full charge the next sunny day. As others have said, the legs are a bit flimsy, but that wasn't an issue and they supported the panels well. When they were as close as I could imagine…

Eclipse case vs original solar case (as of 1/2020)

A few years ago I bought an original 100w Renogy solar case with a controller. I have used it many times for camping in my small van. It has been a very valuable resource in my travels. I was able to camp in crowded areas without turning on the noisy generator. I built an additional 1500w inverter battery pack to power my microwave, computer and other AC electronics. The suitcase has been a great source of alternative energy for my travels. I can easily keep my battery fully charged with…
