Excellent tie rod cross member

Excellent cross member and streamlined my suspension a lot! I have a 2005 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited (LJR) and the installation was fairly easy, the hardest part was drilling a hole in the driver's side body mount. Just take your time and use lots of lube. The only thing I didn't like about it was that the price was $144 when I bought it and it literally dropped to $117 the next day. I was tempted to return it and order again but I'm too lazy.

Flexible - Chassis

Two flexes in two weeks drive. To be honest the first one was over ten years old. Both were bent so badly that I could hardly turn to face the driver. Used ratchet straps to straighten enough to get home. Both accidents are caused by a passenger tire impact at low speed. Replaced with a metal cloak, withstood stronger impacts and still works. If you actually rotate your rig, don't buy this. The Rubicon Express long boom has been in my car for over a decade and has treated me well, they make a…

Very easy to install

I put this on my 4" Cherokee. Thing is way better than I thought it would be. Don't listen to everyone who says it's so hard to fit a 5/8" hole. If you buy a $12 black carbide hole saw from Home Depot and grease it with wd-40, you can drill it through in under 10 seconds with minimal effort. The easiest way to do this is, when the suspension is dropped. So far I haven't had any problems with this rod. The only thing that bothered me was that despite a few channel locks it was a little difficult

There are better options at comparable prices

Well for starters I have to say I had quite a bit of time to try and drill out the butt mount, not only is the drill bit about $20 but you have to grease that suction cup or your drill bit will explode like mine did. The truck design itself is pretty nice and solid, but the Heim joint is a complete sham, it makes a popping sound when it turns since it was installed. - that's not entirely Heim's fault, although that's how it's primarily arranged. A better design would be a double cut…

WHAT PAIN THE HEIMY

This TB is very easy to install as long as you DO NOT drill out the frame mount. I have not used the home connection that comes with the RE1600 TB. Instead of drilling a 5/8" hole I used TRE (Moog part number ES2848LT). This TRE has the same pivot angle as the original hinge part that comes with the RE1600 TB. ) shipped to my door. I have now the option to install an OEM TB or other type of TB Now after using the TJ with the TB installed for a year I have had no problems with the RE1600 TB is…

I would recommend the same hardness (black oxide or cobalt) for drilling.

The RE tie rod is designed for very high loads and is very well made. I just installed it last weekend and am looking forward to hitting the trail to see how it handles obstacle flexing. ONE NOTE: You MUST have a 5/8" drill bit (Black Oxide or Cobalt (best)) AND drilling oil to drill the tapered hole in the bracket on the frame. Ordinary steel drill is not suitable! You will also need a 1/2" drill bit to enlarge the hole in the axle mount. I would recommend the same hardness (black oxide or…

2006 Rubicon w/ 3 " lift 35-12.50-15 Goodyear Wrangler MT/R

I didn't want to damage my old guide rod with a fork so I put a rod and axle on the guide with a weld clamp to get the tapered bolt out of the hole after soaking it in penetrating oil. I had to scrape metal shavings from the RE shaft threads to get free movement. Be prepared to cuss a little as you drill the 5/8 inch hole. You will need a good drill bit and preferably a 1/2 inch drill press. Don't try to pull the metal out, you have to let the drill slowly cut through the metal at low speed…

Good value for money

This chain fitted my 01 XJ just over 3 years ago. It works fine on my sidewalk (no terrain). Three years later I heard popping noises when going over small bumps in the front. It turns out that the zinc coating at the home's connection point has finally failed. This is to be expected as this is my first winter driver on salty New England roads. Just be aware that if you do it daily like I did, the home will eventually need to be replaced. A good excuse to replace all 20-year-old tie rods and…

Pros

Easy installation, great service from Revain Prime. As usual!

Ignore the negative reviews! Ordered for my 1991 Jeep XJ after a lift. Arrived within 2 standard days as promised. The product was exactly as pictured and described. It only comes with one screw; They reuse a standard bolt/nut on the bottom end. Installed in under an hour as I was lucky the stock rail came out pretty easily (brine fork + 4lb hammer). Immediately screwed, tightened the top and bottom screws. Did. Easiest thing I've ever installed (the car is a product of Jeep engineering, so…
