🔧 Efficiently Repair Stress Crack with Stepsaver Products Self Adhesive Stress Crack Tape (1.25'' x 30' Smooth Roll) Item 7030 Review

I tried using this on some small cracks in my ceiling. All directions followed and even smeared with mud to hide the edges even better. After about a week, the tape started blistering and peeling off the wall. Good thing I only primed and didn't apply the last coat. I end up tearing most of it apart and starting with a more traditional crack repair approach.

Excellent adhesion. It does the job I wanted. That is, to hide ceiling cracks that expand from the weather. This band is stretchy. It was difficult to find. I've tried other tapes and methods (spatula) with no success. This item is a bit expensive. In the end I was happy to pay the price. I would have saved time on errors if I had found that first.

We have a popcorn ceiling and have found that we need to clean it before we crack it, otherwise it will probably hold up very well. Therefore 4 stars for the grip. 4 stars for value because I wish there was more on the reel for the money. I think each roll is about 10 feet long and if you're making long cracks on textured walls or ceilings you won't get very far. Need more per roll for the price.

We have plastered ceilings and 3 micro cracks. I hired a professional painter/contractor to fix and then repaint the LR and DR as it would be noticeable if the stripes were just painted over. Streaks appeared first, so I had to cover the tape. Then they painted it. After 3 days the tape was bubbling up all over the strip in all 3 places and looked worse than before. Correct application is everything. It is extremely important to carefully smooth the edges without pressing too hard on the center. Creates a trompe l'oeil effect giving the illusion of a perfect seam while the area of the crack expands and contracts naturally as the house settles (which was a problem along the entire north side of my house, in the same relative area of each room).
