Assembled backwards

I'm using this product for hatch lights on my boat. The only problem so far is they're backwards. NC (normally closed) light is off when doors open. Should be the other way. NC light is on when doors open. Not a huge deal, you can wire them to NO (normally open) position and they work just fine (on when door is open) not bad they're just backwards.

  • Worked perfectly! I would use this product again

  • The switches are relatively small and easy to overlook, which could mean that intruders could bypass them without even realizing they're there

Nice magnetic reed switches

These switches will work as either normally open or normally closed switches. I needed a switch to be open when the magnet is next to it. These work great to trigger a small relay to power up LED strip lights mounted inside my kitchen cabinets. When you open the door, the lights turn on. Most of these reed switches are normally closed when the magnet is near. They are primarily used in alarm systems, but work quite well for other projects too, as long as you keep an eye on the current going…

  • The switches may not provide adequate security in all situations, since they only detect motion when a magnet is disturbed and may not be able to pick up on other signals that could indicate a break-in or intrusion

The sensor has a range of about one centimeter

The sensor is both normally closed and normally open that you select by connecting to the appropriate terminal. Replace old contacts.

  • The switches require a different magnet for each one, which means that you'll need to keep track of multiple magnets and make sure they all match up with their respective switches

Quality control is terrible

Product itself is good. I ordered 4 packages of these switches and one switch from each package was bad. Quality control sucks.

Cheap and died or just didn’t work

Majority of mine either didn’t work from the get go or died after a short time in use. One currently take a min or so to switch off.

Junk switches: my feedback

Out of a package of 6, 5 have stopped working after only a few days on a 12 volt DC system. I have one left to try. No quality at all. Waste of money.

Super good on my review.

I used them to opeerate air curtains and they function really well. But this type of application requies also the installation of a contactor. The magnet switch works once the two parts come as close as 1 cm away.
