Not bad, but not the best

I am very happy with the seller. The product itself was simple and effective. The main problem was its tendency to overexpose some slides and a few negatives. It was dark at first and then looked pretty good, but often got lighter to the point where every bright object was a bright spot. I found that sometimes I could instantly click to save an image when it was too dark and get an image I liked. Because the memory click is delayed, you have to click when it's still too dark to catch the phase…

ION Slides2PC Scanner

The ION SLIDES2PC scanner has lived up to expectations. If 35mm slides are good, then so is scanning to your computer. However, if the slides are slightly faded or discolored, it is often not worth keeping the scanned image. The process is a bit slow as you can only scan 3 slides at a time, but you can actually scan 12 slides into the scanner before transferring them to your computer. If you have plenty of time and good slides this little machine is worth the money. I didn't use Walmart's slide

Pros
  • Quickly and easily transfers 35mm negatives and slides to a PC or laptop
Cons
  • Security

Completely satisfied

I have read many bad reviews about this product which seem to be due to the owner's computer and not the product itself. I use this product to scan about 700 Christmas slides for my family and create a book from the scans. I started on December 4th and I don't see any problem in completing the whole project by the 25th. Of course, the quality depends on how much disk space you can allocate to the project (full resolution scans are VERY impressive). I find scanning to a 12MB TIF file at the…

Great for the money

I have about 2500 35mm slides from the 60's, 70's and 80's made by friends and family but mostly landscapes, plants and animals that I as an artist I use as a reference source for my paintings. A few years ago I noticed that my slides darkened noticeably with age, despite proper storage. I decided to convert them to a digital format, which to be honest is a lot of work considering the total number. I wanted to buy a digital slide converter that would get the job done but there is no white…

Pros
  • Great for a small home
Cons
  • Questionable purchase for the elderly

Faulty but working

I like what I can do with this product despite the issues to consider before buying. I have many, many 35mm slides from the 1960's and 70's that I wanted to digitize to keep safe and share with family. This product will get the job done, albeit with a few issues. First, it was not designed for Windows 7, but with some modifications it works on Windows 7. I had to download the latest drivers and editing software from their website before the slide image appeared on my monitor. For some reason…

Pros
  • Hands free operation
Cons
  • Very expensive
