Older parents love this

My older parents said the pill cutter works great. Their insurance won't allow pills to be given in two different sizes, so they are forced to cut them down. In one instance the prescription was 18 mg. The pharmacy tried to give us 1 mg tablets. Can you imagine having to take 18 pills! Decided on 5 mg and cut one down. It was as close as we could get. Anyway, the pill cutter is easy and works great. Cost is minimal. Great gift for an older parent that doesn't need traditional gifts!

Works but… best in my review

This works nicely for splitting round pills, but if he’ll stack up toward the front (toward you if you are cutting a pill), the pills can jam when you close the box and they crack.

Easy for all sizes best in my review

I bought this for my 83 year old father who needed to change a dosage on a prescription. He told me he had a splitter previously but it "didn’t work right” and he threw it away. This one has been working like a champ for him! His pills were small and didn’t have a line in the middle for easy splitting so he was nervous. I live far away so I wasn’t there to instruct on usage but it turned out to be unnecessary. According to my mom it is "working super!”

  • Sometimes the pills slip and you'll get odd shaped pieces not exact cuts. It may be operator error.

  • The dark color may make it difficult to find in a drawer or medicine cabinet

Easy clean cuts - my new review

Amazingly sharp. My older one (different brand) was ready for replacement after only 6 months of use and started crushing the pills more than cut them. I included a few screenshots to show how nice and clean the cuts are. Fast and easy to use. Just set the pill all the way to the back of the (V) shape and close the lid and wallah your finished. No crushing. Cuts evenly every time. I did several and each came out the same as the first. There’s also a little compartment in the back that snaps off

May work well for others but does not work well with small tablets

We were replacing the pill CVS pill cutter we bought several years ago and purchased this one. We found it to be difficult to use. The top does not open up all the way so you need to be comfortable with that. I find that annoying as it makes it more challenging to situate the small tablet we have to cut in a good position. This is used to cut a small blood pressure pill in quarters for our cat. When we got to splitting the half into a quarter - it got even worse. This tablet we have to cut is…
