Works for our SeaRay Mercruiser

No more embarrassing and annoying clicks without starting. We always started, but now the Mercruiser flips over on our SeaRay every time.

Pros
  • Excellent overall performance
Cons
  • Replacement availability

Buy elsewhere.

Not working after about 20 starts. I'm a ship's mechanic and that's complete nonsense. It is 100% this product that uses a screwdriver with the family to start the boat on the water.

Pros
  • High marks for support and durability from testers
Cons
  • Running speed

At times we had starting problems. Installed this device.

There were intermittent startup problems. Installed this device in 5 minutes and had at least 50 error free launches over the last few months. Powerplant: GM 305 on a 2002 Bayliner Rendezvous.

Pros
  • Free for educational purposes
Cons
  • I vaguely remember

12 volt solenoid is the best among starters and parts

I have used this solenoid to power my underwater boat lights which only draw about 10 amps at 12 volts DC. The solenoid worked for about 10 minutes, after which the coil failed. The device will likely work fine for its intended application, but it's definitely not a continuously acting solenoid. It wasn't actually advertised as a continuous mode, so I gave it a few extra stars.

Pros
  • Decent performance
Cons
  • Some difficulties

Works best in spares

I have used this solenoid to drive a 12v Viair supercharger in my pickup truck air suspension system and it works great! Much better than the pressure switch/switch combo that came with my compressor. I just connected the hot side trip wire to the ignition switch source and negative via a toggle switch and a standard push button switch so I can turn it off manually or turn it off by itself when the machine isn't running

Pros
  • Very good value for money
Cons
  • Ugly packaging

Get what you pay for.

I bought two of these for my boat. One of mine failed, the other worked, but I thought it best to use a pair of the same age. Glad I bought two. The small pin on the bottom of the first solenoid I opened snapped off with very little resistance, pulling it down. I left the second one as a backup and just bought a better solenoid somewhere else. Get what you pay for with it.

Pros
  • Best
Cons
  • Damaged

complete crap don't waste your money

I bought 3 of these, 2 worked straight away and the other 2 broke within a month of use. If you tell me how difficult it was to get these things on my boat, you can see why I'm angry. The contouring I had to go through to get to them was painful. Then it was brutal to do the same work twice in the same season. Stick to OEM or at least buy Sierra solenoids. THAT IS TRASH. and of course no guarantee on that as they haven't been used for several weeks after purchase.

Pros
  • Heavy Duty
Cons
  • Band
