Takes some practice

It takes some practice to use properly. I lost my wireless connection twice and had to turn the ring off and on again to keep it working. I hope this question will not be asked on stage.

Pros
  • Nice piece
Cons
  • Only available in white

Got the package on time. Everything works. I'm still .

The package arrived on time. Everything works. I'm still playing with the device. Right now I have to do very exaggerated movements to make it work. I'll keep trying to dial it down a bit.

Pros
  • Brings joy
Cons
  • Not everything is as good as it is written

AMAZING CUSTOMER SERVICE

My son bought this and he loves it. I'll check Source Audio's customer service though. The only issue we have with this item is the rubber ring bushing. If you're not careful, you can easily break the loop holding the finger loop. After unsuccessfully searching the web to purchase a replacement rubber grommet, I finally emailed Source Audio from their website. After 2 hours the answer came and said that there was no need to buy. They would send me some extras for free! I gave them my address…

much better than wired version

It is 1000% more convenient than wired version. I haven't actually used any features other than the wireless Hot Hand itself (no expression pedal, adjustable controls for non-adjustable source pedals), but I've tested them to make sure they work. $150 is pretty expensive, but the wired version is almost impossible to use. One day I took the ring off and put it on the amp and it vibrated, landed on the floor, I stepped on it and it broke. The replacement ring was $70 + $10 shipping from the…

Not just for bass! in home audio

I admit I was captivated by the sound of dubstep. The hot hand is much more than I expected. Now I will repeat what others have said. This won't produce any sound, you'll need an envelope filter of the original audio and/or a distortion pedal or pretty much anything that has an expression input. Now to say that it acts like an expression pedal isn't quite right, its 3-axis control allows you to play with the wavelength and speed of the LFO, giving you dubstep swing. This works with keyboards…

Pros
  • The best in its niche
Cons
  • Can I add something

Stop watching YouTube videos and get the damn thing!

Beautiful expressive ring. The only pedal I have at the moment is the b2.1 Zoom, which isn't great in hot hands, but I took it to the music store to try out the SYB-5 boss. I tried the SYB-5 because it's the number one thing people use with hot gear. I had so much fun tinkering around in the shop that I didn't have time to look at other pedals. You can easily get by without buying anything other than SYB and compression multi-effects and so on. I have ordered syb and am hoping to get BEF Pro…

Fun but not necessary

New wireless effects controller. If you want to see what he does, watch some Dragonforce or Nathan Navarro videos. It allows you to control the guitar effect expression, similar to a pedal expression, but with a ring attached to your hand. So the problem here is changing your technique so that you can play with one hand while controlling the impact of the expression with the other. It can be difficult, but it's fun. I tried another Source Audio article, a bass envelope filter that you can tweak

Pros
  • It's awesome
Cons
  • No shape required

The thing is great, but there are also disadvantages.

It's hard not to have mixed feelings about this item. If you don't know what it is, you should probably watch some videos about it even if you're not interested. It's a pretty neat little device. This allows a guitarist, bass or synth player, DJ, etc. to control the expression signal for the pedal with a ring instead of an expression footswitch. That's where my mixed feelings come up: On the one hand, I like the functionality of this device. It's a bit niche, but that's the kind of stuff I…
