LOOKS GREAT, PERFORMS GREAT

LOOKS GREAT, WORKS GREAT BUT INSTALLATION ALTHOUGH SIMPLE, MOUNTS VERY VERY CLOSE TO BOTH AIR CONDITIONERS. HOSES ON MY JEEP TJ. HAVE A LITTLE SUPPORT TO GET A LITTLE SOLUTION!

Makes sense - parts

Simple and easy installation. Gas mileage is better and optimistically I think I can see an increase in performance in lower gears. I wrapped mine in heat protection tape to keep airflow cool. It just feels more natural compared to the old intake system.

Looks cool, worth the price.

I think it looks cool but not sure if it does anything differently. I find the jeep is a bit noisier and there was no secure attachment to the carburetor hole. If you want one of these, it's a decent value.

Specter Performance Air Intake 9940

This product arrived as promised and on time. The instructions were very helpful during installation. All parts are in the box, nothing is missing. Installation took just over an hour as I double checked everything to make sure I didn't have to take it apart and redo it. I really hate doing everything over again. I will update once I have it set up.

Worth the money - super easy installation

I'm not sure I believed the hype about performance upgrades for jeeps with air scoops. But I believe now after the installation. Very easy setup and my 4 cylinder TJ with 31" tires has great throttle response now, especially in 2nd and 3rd gear and up hills (not off road, just around town). Plus when you actually get behind the wheel , hear a nice (not obnoxious) roar from under the hood.

Works great, poor design

Would give it 5 stars but the product design has a few minor flaws. The filter is so long that it just broke under the weight. The support team quickly issued me a new filter, which I attached a clip to the end of to prevent this from happening again. There is also a rubber spacer screw, it should be steel. Again it broke within 5 miles. Went to Lowe's, bought the steel and fixed that too. The product works great, just expect to reverse engineer a few things

CARB Approved and suitable for CA

'97, 4-Cylinder. It fits great and since it's CARB approved you can use it for registration in California: I just passed a smog test (visibility and exhaust) with it. I noticed a little more power compared to my old cold air intake and a nice sound. Installation is very easy, the hardware is solid, the instructions are perfect and I found the fit and finish to be good. I need to see how well it holds water when the rainy season comes and I drive through puddles. UPDATE: The Nor'Cal rainy season
