DO NOT BUY.: Camping

This was the worst bike rack ever. I installed it, brought it home, and the strap pins were rubbery and bent when I tried to tie them with the straps. This concept is not new to me, my latest shelf was designed in a similar way. Differences? The pins were hard so knitting was easy. Luckily my rack salesman had two other better mounts and replaced the sport rack mounts. DO NOT BUY.

  • Hard to say

Heavy and cheap but durable

I have a used one - Selling very well from Amazon stock. It had no top pin and was scratched all over. Needless to say it comes back, but what really surprised me is that the pivot point of the dual tube (where it attaches to the vertical tube) is bent. Rubber fasteners seemed cheap and not strong enough. So it's not worth it, even for 1/3 the used price. Combined with the very high weight compared to some other options, I feel like it's not worth it even at full price.

  • Decent performance

Heavy, big and bulky - accessories

The thing is very heavy, no instructions how to tie and put on bikes and what kind of bikes are not suitable (e.g. beach cruisers). It extends very far from my car, making parking and reversing difficult. It blocks the back door and makes it difficult to unload other things. I also found another bike rake that I liked better, but for having spent so much money on it I suffered a loss. I will try to sell on sale or on eBay. If you are a strong and avid cyclist this might be for you. I wouldn't…

Heavy Duty Bike Rack: Accessories

I did a cross country trip (and back) with a SportRack Ridge Swing 4 and two bikes on my Honda CRV. It held up very well, keeping the bikes safe and stable, and it was very easy to flip the bike rack still on it to access the tailgate. Unlike some other browsers, I found assembly easy. One criticism: Some of the rubber mounts gradually slip over the horizontal support bars due to the weight of the bikes and the movement of the car and are difficult to reattach. to the right place. If you had 3…

Worth the money for bike rack

So I was a little apprehensive about such a large purchase based on some reviews but I really needed what this product could offer. When we travel we usually have two large dogs in the back of the truck (we have an RV) and we always take our mountain bikes with us. It was very difficult to unload the bikes from the trunk to lower the tailgate to let them out for a rest on long drives. When I saw this I hoped it would help. It was just what we needed! Very sturdy construction and reclines fully…

Pros
  • High marks for support and durability from testers
Cons
  • Little things

But it works. fits accessories

This stand is incredibly heavy so keep that in mind when getting in and out of your car. But I have no problem with that. My biggest gripe is the straps holding the bikes. The rubber that the straps are attached to is very soft. So if you pull the strap over the bike's tube and try to attach it to the attachment point, it won't hold. This makes securing the bikes very difficult and after doing this for 4 bikes your fingers will be throbbing. This "feature" alone moves the rack from 4-5 stars to

It's not as easy as it sounds

THINGS TO KNOW FOR ASSEMBLY. There is a 12mm T-handle screw that is used to hold the rack securely in the closed position. I could not get this bolt to engage the vertical portion of the mast it is intended to screw into and secure. Do not thread this nylock nut far enough to expose enough threads to properly engage the vertical mast. For some time I was perplexed by this dilemma. Reach inside the tube and grip the nylon nut firmly enough to slide the T-handle nut through. It's not as easy as…

Excellent value for money and huge time saver compared to fixed shelving.

Installed on a 2017 Honda Pilot with a factory hitch. Bought this after learning the first one we bought locally required removing the bikes to tilt the rack to access the tailgate. We are so glad that we used the U-turn feature dozens of times during our 1500 mile round trip to get to the car's charge. No problems for the whole trip. The rubber forks that the bikes ride on shifted a bit while riding on the rack, but that's about it. Panning was excellent and very reliable. In our case we only…

Finally Win With Warehouse Deal - As New

TL:DR - Made by Thule but looks like the IKEA version! 2 I've bought, one (very good, over $43) was heavily used and missing almost everything but 3 large pieces due to torn packaging, while the other (like new, over $41 - yes) has a manufacturing defect , but I managed to fix it with my buddy - and that was the only problem! Thanks to my buddy Mr. BJ for helping me fix a slightly bent strut pivot. (1) Very good - package arrived damaged. All the screws and accessories are gone, just the empty…
