Works well once installed

Used to lift Wenonah Spirit II. Installation was a bit fiddly as the instructions aren't that great. In addition, the brackets can only be mounted in one direction along the ceiling joists. The straps also stretch, which is inconvenient in our garage, which isn't very tall. The lift is easy to use and the self-locking mechanism works well. Our 17ft canoe definitely needs two people.

Pros
  • Pretty Packaging
Cons
  • Vulgarity

Cheap rope, good bindings and pulleys.

Used for Old Town Saranac 146 ceiling storage. My garage ceilings were too high for the included rope to work properly and I didn't fully trust the rope's tensile strength. I ended up using the pulleys, ceiling mounts and straps from the kit and removed the rope. I used 1/8 cable and an electric winch. Now it is much easier to store canoes. 4 stars because I still had to lug it around.

Pros
  • Great for outdoor activities
Cons
  • Some difficulty

LOSS OF MONEY. DO NOT BUY!

After spending 10 months building my own Cedar Strip canoe I finally installed the Hi Lift Pro. Following all the instructions, I attached the brackets to the supports using the 4 screws that came with the kit. When we first lifted the 65 pound canoe to the ceiling, ALL THE CARPETS WERE PULLED OUT FROM THE CEILING. I send my $8,000 canoe to the concrete floor. Obviously LITTLE 2" lugs DO NOT HELP 90 LBS, AS KNOWN! I can't even express HOW FUCKING ANGRY I AM.

  • Great Price

The instructions are terrible, the product is good.

Product looks good as it looks, I bought the professional model thinking it would be better but it turned out the standard model would have been a better choice as the straps not working properly. Visit the company's YouTube page for instructions as the information contained is terrible and so uninformative that you could burn it. After watching the video it's pretty easy to install and use, although my ceiling doesn't support my canoe in the direction it needed to be mounted. It would be…

Amazing customer support!

I originally bought this to lift my kayak but went the other way so it only sat in the garage for a few months before I decided to use it, to lift my fishing cart off the ground. When I went to install it, I found that I was missing one of the brackets that attach to the ceiling. I was concerned that I would have trouble getting the missing part due to the long time that had passed since I placed my order. After contacting Store Your Board, a replacement part was sent to me quickly and easily…

Perfect solution! Great service!

This lift does exactly what StoreYourBoard claims. It comes in a small box! and it is easy to assemble. The mounting brackets attach directly to the 2x4 garage rafters or other supports in your garage or shop. I received the product from the factory very quickly. I mistakenly thought they left part of the build out of their box, only to find it "hidden in plain sight" the next day. Unfortunately I contacted the company through the Revain portal to let them know about the missing part before I…

Cons

This lift is so cheap

Really not that bad for the price. The guide is not suitable for people who cannot stream videos. The rope should be the cheapest, worst rope. That alone makes it problematic. A locking mechanism that pinches the rope quickly wears away this material, which consists of straight fibers in the middle surrounded by a woven material, similar to a finger-trap puzzle. The first time I took a canoe (14 foot Navarro fiberglass that weighs 58#). I could see the outer part of the rope twisting and…

Pros
  • Best in its niche

Works well but overall unsatisfied

Does what it is supposed to. I have him in hand with a 15 foot canoe. It climbs fairly easily, but becomes more difficult as you climb when the rope gets caught on the boat. The braking system is good in that it holds itself up when climbing. The rope is terrible after installing and testing a few climbs, the rope is already worn out. I will replace it because the boat will fall on me in the drain. The instructions are also very bad. They should show a diagram of the whole system setup. You…

Poor and Misleading Installation Guide

Great idea. Missing Information: If you have a roll-up garage door, you need at least 25 feet of available space in your garage across the width of your car. If you have an 8ft ceiling and mount the canoe as shown, you will not be able to fit your car under the canoe. If you are going to load your canoe into a vehicle you will most likely need to turn it upside down, which is very inconvenient and difficult, if not dangerous, with the strap provided. I ended up buying a rope with hooks so the…
