Have been using this perch for about 6 months. I finally have a bird that LOVES to shower and it works great! I installed it upside down at first and only figured it out after a month. lol. Our bird gets mad in the shower and sometimes slips a bit, so we just leave the washcloth on the perch so he can hold it better. :)

My cockatoo is hard to shower as he hates squirt guns and everything. I started teaching him to use tap water and my shower head (detachable). But it was still uncomfortable so I bought it hoping it would be even more comfortable. He did, but I have to go in with him if he wants to jump out of the creek. The only thing I would do is add the same blue grip to the white cap. He likes to stand closer to the end, so the extra support is good. Many Thanks.

This WAS a great perch. The first time we used it, I brushed the shower wall (a hard surface is perfectly flat and smooth), wiped the suction cups with a damp sponge, pressed each cup against the wall and it popped through our cockatoo's shower. I repeated the process for the next shower but when I got the towels out it fell off and when it hit the plastic shower floor the blue snap broke off. It can probably be patched again, but I'm not sure I would trust suction cups.

Terrible product. Do not use for more than one very small parrot. The screws weren't screwed properly into the suction cups and even after I super glued them this thing kept falling off the wall with my poor cockatoo on top. He used to love showers, but now he's scared of it. Edit: We found that even if the tile is slightly textured, it will NOT hold up. But since we moved it to the glass surface, it hasn't fallen off. A perch would be ideal if it was 1) 2-3 inches longer and 2) attached with stronger suction cups. All manufacturers use these mugs and they fall off the wall. It was a different brand and fell off the wall every few days with the cheap suction cups that came with it. To fix this permanently, take two vacuum shower head wall mounts, remove the suction cups that came with the perch and run a tube inside. This is the second time I've bought this perch (I still have the first one) and I really like it. I have two companion birds and now they can both shower with me at the same time. Sandpaper is needed to keep the bird from slipping. However, this is a bit of a concern as there is a risk of them scratching the bottom of their feed. Warning - it's unsafe, won't stick to the shower wall for long. I foolishly tried my little kennel and he fell with him, breaking the spring. Since he's a quiet guy, he decided to give it another try, so I tested him out for a day or two without him and found that even without something on the perch, he eventually slipped.
