Great rack, don't lose the key!

I love this bike rack, I really do. It swings out of the way of the full width rear door on my Dodge Van so I can open it without removing the bicycles and rack from my hitch. Why not 5 stars? Propitiatory lock with only ONE KEY! You need at least 2 and I need 4. I emailed customer service and asked them to send me 3 more. They sent a PayPal invoice for $34.00! Three keys and shipping - you decide if you just want to deal with a company that does this. Oh, all of these racks use the same key…

broken after 2 months

I bought the rack, used it less than 10 times and now it is broken and I'm not getting any help from the manufacturer. When it worked I loved it, maybe a little harder to get the bikes on and off, but for the money it was great. I had one of the mounting bolts that secures the bike to the rack freeze up. The nut it threads into is hidden inside the rack and can't be accessed and the only way to remove the bike was to cut the bolts with a hacksaw. Now even using screw extractors and long handled

Best Bike rack ever

Easy to put on, built like a tank, NEVER have to worry about the bikes coming off. If your car was totaled in an accident, this will still hold your bikes, and the bike rack would still be attached to the car! Got this rack after a previous one had a strap failure dumping/dragging the bikes on the road.The only down side to this rack is the bolts/knobs that clamps the plate down to lock the bikes to the rack - the bolts are fine thread and there are a lot of threads, takes quite a few turns to…

broken defect: my feedback

I bought this bike rack thinking I wouldn't have any problems, but after 3 months the area that turns the bikes to sway away started to tilt. I e-mailed surco but after a week with no reply I called, the so called owner said he never had this problem before and said that the bolt and nut that holds this unit could never come apart but I have one, I expected he would send me a new one but he wanted me to send it back to Cal (I'm in RI) so they could fix it. As I am traveling I would have no time
