Not even close to the specified temperature range.

I installed this in my SBC in the passenger side header. The fan turned on at 202 degrees and off at 185 degrees. Not even close to the specified temperature range. I'll report back when my replacement arrives.

Good replacement in engine radiator cooling fan

Bought a fan relay kit for my new electric fans and the thermal switch that came with it didn't work. I thought it wouldn't hurt for the price and it worked great for my car! It never let my car get anywhere near 200 degrees and shut down when it was supposed to.

temperature is far away.

Tested several times in boiler water and never switched on in the same place, about 12°F difference, but always above specified setpoint. It's great, but I had to adapt it to the car so I could have something that worked until I did something better.

Bought 2 times: works fine until it stops working

I bought one of these for the electric fan in my truck, worked fine for about 3 months then the electric connector broke. I bought another one thinking maybe the wire was too tight and putting stress on the connector. Bought a second one as a spare and it worked fine for about 2 months. My truck was overheating and I found the switch stopped working. I ended up wiring my fan so that it only turns on when the motor is running and the sensor just fills the hole.

This particular temperature range works best with a 180 degree thermostat

. This part was used to turn the radiator fan on at 185 and off at 175. Make sure you have a relay that can source enough current to overcome the inrush current (at least twice the electric fan's rated current). This switch provides ground to the coil side of the relay and your key on the hot wire or ignition wire provides +12V. With this connection, the fan will turn on when the coolant temp reaches 185 degrees and run until the coolant temp drops below 175 degrees.

I couldn't get the information I needed.

I bought one of these to see if it would solve my problem with the fans never turning off. It worked. When I asked the manufacturer of this switch what the current rating was, they couldn't tell me. Yes, I should have asked that before I bought it, but I've struggled with this fan issue for so long that I was willing to shell out $14 just to see if a lower temp range would solve my problem. Now that I don't know how long this switch will last (I run 1 1/2 amps through it) I will find another…

Worked 2 hours, don't waste your money.

Installed as fan switch on Jeep CJ with 304V-8, 16" electric fan, aluminum radiator. Relay was used to control fan voltage, fan switch was used to control relay ground. I changed the engine coolant. After installation of the switch bleed the system and bring the jeep up to operating temperature. Solved Ford/Lincoln/Mercury production problem on 4.6L V8

Works great on my 1998 city car because a genius at Ford decided the 1998 4.6L engine didn't fit and needed a coolant temp sensor, Instead, bs sensors are used. Works as intended - switch and relay

I installed this temperature switch to run the fans on my aluminum heatsink. I installed it in my SBC's water pump port. I had to use an adapter to fit this connector. The switch claims to actuate at 185ft and release at 175ft, according to my Milwaukee temp gun its deflection is about 5 degrees.
