Poorly finished

These parallels do not match the ground. Some of them may be standard, they say, but most in the set are at least 0.001 off the matching pair. The finish is poor and overall a cheap instrument. The plastic box doesn't even close! Another example of you get what you pay for.

Pros
  • New
Cons
  • Slightly torn

These parallels are not hardened or tool steel

They are mild steel, maybe CRS, my durometer would not even rate on the lowest Rc scale, tool steel usually gives 15 rc. I tested my scale against the Ram certified standard and was happy. The parallel was about 0.001 inches. not that bad. My complaint is that it is advertised as cured!

Pros
  • Hands free operation
Cons
  • Very expensive

Structural steel. Stuck screws.

I think I made a mistake in the purchase. All parallels appear to have been processed as an assembly. I had to use a brass hammer to get some of them to slide and I noticed that the brass was splitting the steel parallels. How does brass harden steel? The larger ones have two screws, and one of the two in both was so seized that I couldn't turn it without removing the screw heads. They're relatively cheap, but I still don't think they're worth what I paid. I'm not really looking forward to it…

Pros
  • Delivery was very fast
Cons
  • Crumpled
