Used to upgrade a recently purchased refurbished Unibody Mac Book A1342 Mid 2010 (Model ID 7.1). I replaced the normal 2 1GB memory sticks with these. The system had no problems registering the new memory and the system information confirms that 2 x 4GB modules are installed and working properly. I ran the boot hardware memory test function and found no errors. Yesterday I replaced a standard 250GB mechanical hard drive before the storage arrived. Installed a 160GB SATA II SSD and the speed…

Late 2009 MacBook 6.1

I bought this to prolong the life of my MacBook. It originally came with 2GB of RAM. A few years ago an OS update really slowed it down and that made me put it aside. I decided to restore it so I could play around with Xcode, but that required a newer OS version. Upgrading to High Sierra, Apple's highest possible upgrade, rendered the computer almost unusable. A little investigation led me to the conclusion that the problem was the lack of RAM. I chose this kit because it was listed as…

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Almost everything included

My late 2009 MacBook Pro was getting pretty sluggish with only 4GB of memory. After a quick look at a YouTube video, I was able to easily swap out the 2x2GB memory cards for these 2x4GB to increase the total storage to 8GB. I see a difference in the speed of programs after they are loaded into memory. The boot process is still a little sluggish, but it's probably more hard drive related. My wife had an iMac with the same 4GB memory issue. I wasn't expecting this, but I found out that their iMac

Great product, great price!

A blind person's point of view... I bought this to increase the storage capacity of my Mac Mini MC270LL/a (Mid 2010). If you are inexperienced in disassembling your Mini, you will likely need the assistance of a sighted person if you are blind. Whatever the vision, by searching my Mini model number on YouTube I was able to find the perfect video with instructions on how to install and upgrade the memory. I highly recommend watching this video before and during installation as it was incredibly…

I recently purchased this 8GB RAM (upgraded from 2GB) for my mid 2009 MacBook Pro). My old desktop iMac is now faster than my MacBook Pro. The update did speed up my MacBook Pro, but not as fast as I expected compared to half the memory on the old machine. Generally, once the computer is up and running, it runs smoothly and handles some applications well, but I still get that Apple rainbow circle from time to time, and the download still takes around 2-3 minutes as opposed to less than 1…

!ATTENTION! PLEASE STOP AND READ. If like me you spend minutes or even hours clicking to compare and save an extra dollar or two to find the best product or alternative, just save your time and go ahead and order it. Use the time you save after adding them to your cart, knowing they match the ads and are exactly what you're looking for, at least in my case. I have an obsessive compulsive disorder when I compare many items on Amazon to find the best quality versus price, so I'm writing this…

Late 2009 iMac Tip

I purchased this RAM upgrade after installing my wife's Late 2012 MacMini, which greatly improved performance. In this case, we replaced the factory-installed 4GB with 16GB, which is a 4x increase. The operation went from sluggish to lightning fast. It was like day and night. About 5 years ago I upgraded my iMac from the factory 4GB to 12GB at the end of 2009. But when RAM prices dropped, I decided to bump it up to 16GB. This will be a 1.33x increase. My first attempt failed. But after two more
