OEM replacement toilet handle

This handle is very easy to fit with pliers or an adjustable wrench. That's good news. The bad news for me is that my tank is crooked so I had to bend them and being plastic they break easily. I recently tried a new hair dryer heating technique that required me to adjust the angle. This worked great allowing me to bend the plastic without cracking or breaking. Once adjusted, the handle fits freely in the flush cylinder, preventing the handle from sticking.

Working after modification

This was a replacement for the Mansfield Model 160 grip. Compared to the original, the plastic 'shank' was slightly longer than the original but can easily be modified with a saw . However, the original bar had a bend, and this replacement was straight. Without flexing, this rod prevents the gasket assembly from falling back and allowing the toilet to continue functioning. Using a hair dryer run on high power and heating for about 10 minutes, the thermoplastic rod could be bent to conform to…

Mansfield Toilet Handle

When one of my toilet handles broke I was unable to find a suitable replacement at our local hardware stores. I ordered online and was happy with the website and the fast shipping. The new grips are fine and almost like the original ones that broke. The only difference/problem is that they are too long (9 inches). I knew this when I ordered them as the length was clearly stated. However, I really need 7 inch grips and couldn't find that size online. I can easily cut them with a copier or…

Waste of money good for toilet lever

I read the reviews but thought it sounded like it was basically too long and the hair dryer trick would soften the plastic to bend or break it. Well it worked. But they are angled towards the front of the cistern. Once you break it and pull the strings, if you remember to pull the handle all the way up, you'll know it'll continue to stick and the toilet will leak. That's why I had to replace the grip in the first place because our last grip broke and it worked the whole time, what a waste of…

Fits Mansfield Model 162

I have a Mansfield Model 162 toilet (model number stamped either on the inside of the cistern or on the bottom of the cistern or under the lid) that they don't make anymore. I've read online that some of the common lever replacement parts you buy from your local Lowes/Home Depot may or may not work well with certain makes and models of people's toilets. It is also important to measure the length of the current arm as not all replacement pieces are the same length. I have 9 inches. I saw a…

right part. Bad molding

This is an exact replacement for my Mansfield toilet handle. To install, I had to saw off about 3 inches of the lever arm to fit the feedback shift interface (third photo). The sleeve cannot be threaded through the loop without shortening the sleeve or disassembling the toilet bowl. I decided to cut off my hand. After sawing the part off, I rotated the valve cylinder so the end of the lever could be indexed through the loop, then rotated the cylinder back into working position. (first and…
