Not quite what I expected for the price

I was looking for a magnifying lamp to use at my craft table. This one looked promising, but I've been a bit disappointed in it. The light isn't bright enough to illuminate what you're working on unless it's fairly close to it and then it only if it's directly under it. The base is too small and is unstable on carpet, especially if you have the lamp extended far enough to arch over a table (unless you have the lamp stand against the table to support it). The magnifier has to be close to what…

There is no side-to-side pivot on the middle joint of the extenders

The base is sturdy, filled with cement from what I can see. It is easily assembled. Adjustments are difficult because the middle joint where the extending arms meet is only an up-and-down pivot point and is not side-to-side, which makes maneuverability to exactly where you want it nearly impossible in limited space. I have it set beside my couch and don’t have a lot of room to work with. With only up and down movements available, the arm closest to the magnifier is always too close to my body…

Poorly made in my review

The lamp pole wouldn’t line up properly. And it is difficult now to take it apart to return it. So I have a crooked lamp that I can’t get back in the box to return.

Base too light best in my review

It works great for a light but if you need to move the glass around, it tips over. The glass is too heavy for the base Thanks for attention!

Excellent magnifying light!

I started using this light when carving Christmas ornaments a couple months ago and am very satisfied with the way it performs. Was easy to assemble. Is very study with desk top clamp and adjusts to many positions. Stays where you put it. Different types and intensity of light come in handy. I decided to use this type of vision aid rather than one that fits on your head since I use hearing aids and also like to wear a wireless headset to enjoy music as I carve. I would highly recommend this…
