Very easy to install, just insert 3 batteries, stick the magnetic glue on the surface and the flashlight has magnet on the back, so it is very easy to install. It also makes battery replacement easier. They pick up movement from about 6 feet away and stay there for at least 20 seconds before disappearing. Right out of the box I installed the batteries as directed, the light wouldn't even come on in a darkened room. Checked new batteries which showed 1.5 - 1.55 volts DC. I played around with putting batteries in a block and it finally worked (5 minutes). The other two turned on intermittently when playing with batteries, but turned off as soon as the battery compartment cover was closed. The blocks behave as if they were not connected to the grid with battery poles. Not worth the money and bother

These new ones aren't as good as the old ones and I'll tell you why? The old ones you just had to stick on any surface you like and when the batteries died you just had to twist the cover and replace the batteries as you could replace them without having to do anything else. You can't do that with them because once you've taped them to the wall or other surface, the only way to change the batteries is to take the whole thing out, swap the batteries, and then put them back on. It was a pleasant surprise. The lighting is bright enough in a dark room to navigate without glare (as LEDs sometimes do). Small IR sensors pick up my movements faster than I expected. which is a pleasant surprise. I have a small staircase in the garage that is in a dark corner, which makes normal motion-sensing wall lights a poor solution. At first I didn't think the bulbs would be bright enough but they do provide usable light. I don't have a light source in the "Bar" area. One of these is mounted under the cabinet and illuminates the counter below. While it's not as bright as a regular room light, it provides a decent light for this small workspace.
