Everything was fine until the turnbuckle came loose.

So everything was fine until the tensioning screw came out. So I had to use one side of the pedal all the way back. Glad I was only 10 miles from where I started. The rest of the screws will be covered with Loctite. Unfortunately I had to order a brand new set of pedals, this time I'm using Shimano pedals.

Pros
  • Impressive
Cons
  • Slightly dented

The pedal broke off - dangerous!

At first I liked the pedals but after 6 months of use the pedal came loose while I was in the middle of cycling. The pedal broke off in the metal part between the pedal and the part that screws into my bike. When it came loose, the metal piece cut through my leggings and leg. I couldn't even take it out of my shoes afterwards. Luckily I was able to catch myself on the steering wheel, otherwise it would have been much worse.

Excellent value for money: parts and components

I bought these pedals for my second bike which I use solely for commuting as I didn't want to change pedals from my touring bike every time. They were inexpensive, easy to install, and I didn't even have to adjust my shoes or spring tension, which was great. It comes with cleats for shoes that I put aside when others wear out. I've ridden it for hundreds of miles so far with no problems. I don't know why they are advertised as mountain bike pedals, they look like any other pedals I've had for…

Great replacement for Shimano SPD

I have been using a Shimano SPD pedal for 25 years now. Love it. I'll never know why these things aren't cheaper. This is a great app for my mountain bike, road bike and club fitness. These pedals are tension adjustable when stepping on and off. And the price is much better since I put them on every bike I own. I really don't want to pay a lot of money for special pedals for every bike or buy special shoes for every bike. I would like the depth to wear any of my shoes on any of my bikes. For…

Good pedal but turnbuckles come loose easily

I really wanted to love these pedals but the turnbuckles were a problem from day one. Screw from unscrewing, the screw on them spins freely. Today after driving 20 miles one of the propellers vibrated/lost completely and I lost the ability to lock on that side. I flipped the other side and finished the ride, but quickly switched to my spin bike and put the SPD on my gravel bike as soon as I got home. Nice pedal while I've ridden them, but use a tight locking of the bolts once you've upped the…

Easy to change, stable and the price is right!

I bought these pedals after extensive testing and looking for a reasonable price. I have a spin bike and recently changed my shoes which resulted in me having to change pedals as well. There are so many possibilities that I am in shock! I found them and found them very easy to replace from my other pedals. They were easy to swap out of the box and the tension was just right for snapping in and out. For reference, this is an exercise bike and my shoes are Tiem. I used a YouTube video made…

Great alternative to SPD.

I use SPD on my road bike simply because it's easy to get on and off. They had to be broken in a bit (and the idle screws tightened a bit), but once they did, they worked just as well as any Shimano equivalent. If you want to pedal, SPDs are great for commuting, riding on the road, trails, or anywhere. Getting in and out takes some practice, although it may feel a bit tedious at first. I've ridden hundreds of miles and hundreds of clicks. If you love weight you can shave a few grams elsewhere…

Good entry pedals

I'm not a big cyclist but I've been riding longer lately (about 20 miles once a week or so) and thought it might be worth investing in some clip for the pedals After reading about the two main types of contactless systems, I've decided that SPD-style pedals fit my bill and budget better, and I'm willing to stay within $100 with shoes. Installation was easy, having bought an extra wrench to remove my unexpectedly heavy old regular square pedals, and these Venzo branded pedals snapped into place.

  • Delivery was very quick

  • Some cons

Squeaks and chirps endlessly. Tried twice, both the same.

I have a second set of these. These pedals have two noise issues that were completely unacceptable after about 30 miles of riding. One problem that was easily resolved was the repeated creaking that came from the rubber grommets covering the pedal pivots, preventing objects from entering the bearing area. A few drops of oil and the problem didn't recur. The deal breaker for me was that the spikes didn't fit well and kept chirping. When it first started on my second ride with these pedals, I…
