Turn on romantic music, dim the lights and/or light candles.

Our parrots, Bandit and Cisco love this brooder, just add nesting material, play romantic music, dim the lights and/or light some candles and wait. :) Seriously, check the dimensions listed to make sure your cage is big enough to fit in a grow box. The supplied plastic insert is very practical and easy to remove and clean. The front door was also handy for checking eggs.

Already in use - birds

I purchased this Vision breeder box shortly after discovering my rescued parrots were a pair. Oops. Spring. This is a great nest because I can easily get in when I need it. I attached it to the outside of my Prevue cage and carefully trimmed the wires around the hole with metal snips. I hung it on the bars of the cage and secured it with small zip ties. They were comfortable with millet, and then I used compact paper litter from my rat stash to even it out. I think they love it. We have 5 eggs…

There is one downside: Nester

I was disappointed don't get me wrong it was a lot bigger than I expected and it has just the right hole size for a parrot, roomy, easy to assemble, everything , what you need what you could want from the grow box, except that the hook spacing does not match the cage size. I saw a few other reviews talking about the same issue and they said they had to cut the bars to hook properly. Well I do NOT ruin my cage for something I can't keep in there year round. I think the company needs to come up…

Perfect breeding box if you're okay with cage changes

My budgies are picky. I tried to buy "nests" from the store and then built my own box out of wood. Birds have never used either or even bothered to investigate, although my wooden box's performance was very close to this plastic box's. This thing started almost immediately and after two weeks the birds are quickly moving on to their first clutch! They really like it. My dog (Bill) rarely goes out and my mom often drops in between meals. Since they like the top perch best, I set it up so the…

Great nest, wish it was transparent.

I've had this nest for almost 3 years now, it's well built and easy to clean. I want it to only have one side or top or even a door that is transparent so I can visually inspect the eggs/hatchlings without having to open the door every time. The door closes with a click, which is good because the kids don't fall out, but it's noisy and shakes the nest a bit, which makes mom nervous. If I could see I would only have to open it when I see a problem or when it needs cleaning. There is enough space

he has great potential. but there are some problems.

I really wanted to love this grow box. I kinda like him. I bought it thinking it would work well with any Vision cage. I had the largest of the Vision cages that was not double (only had one set of doors). You cannot connect a viewing window to doors, but you can still access the doors to get inside the cage. It's very big. It says he can enter the cage. but it sure takes up a lot of space. Also, as other commenters have said, it can be very difficult to connect to the cage wires, but with a…

OK but having trouble hanging

This is a good size grow box measuring 9" x 6" and 7" tall. It is designed to be hung inside or outside the cage on 2 plastic hangers. However, the brackets are too wide to fit between the bars of my cage. The width between the vertical bars is 1/2 inch and the hangers are 1/2 inch at the bottom but taper to almost 3/4 inch. The only way they fit is by bending the bars of the cage or placing them on horizontal bars by the door. Some reviewers said they used duct tape or attached it to the…

Great design. Hard plastic for easy cleaning.

This bird house is the solution to my problem. Easy to install and clean. Also, my birds can't sit on it, so they can't mess it up with poop! I have 3 dirty lovebirds. Two of them always want to nest. I have a small coconut shell for them to nap in, but they always prefer a larger nest. Over the years they have soiled every fabric hut I have provided. The main problem is that they sit on it and poop on it. No matter how many times I cleaned it, no matter how high I caged it, and no matter how…
