Two of the three detectors in my 3 pack have failed tests; incomplete sound test pattern. What else could be wrong? Should I trust these entities?

Two of these units were purchased for rent. I chose this model based on its good reviews and long lasting batteries as rental companies don't provide very good service so I wanted a long lasting device. I installed it myself, although I have VERY limited skills. It was a bit boring but it was quick and easy and after a few months they are fine. Hope they last as long as advertised!

I hope I never have to verify that it works but it's well tested and I feel a lot better having a detector that doesn't require battery replacement every six months. It has a solid construction, is easy to install and has a fairly loud alarm. I bought two and am in the process of buying two more to replace the old ones around the house. I have experience with X-Sense fire alarms and last time I realized I should have bought a carbon monoxide alarm too. Well I followed my own advice and did just that. The product is well made and comes with a 10 year battery. It turns on with the simple flick of a switch and you can mount it with the included screws or get a command bar and mount it that way. I would use the Kidde brand available at my local HD store and if a small amount of steam from the shower reached them it would signal a fire. The only way to silence Kidde is to make him fall and smash into a wall. The X Sense appears to be of much better quality and finish. It also beeps when steam hits it, but the mute button works. I bought 4 of these alarm clocks to update my old alarm clocks. As long as I'm happy with it. I'm not a fan of needlework, but it wasn't difficult to install. Used 3 screws and the old one used 2. I like that they have a mute button which the old ones didn't have. False alarms are annoying and you have to stand near the detector for a few minutes waving a towel to silence the alarm, especially if you've just boiled water. First off, maybe I missed it, but the batteries are NOT REPLACEABLE. The device is designed to turn on when installed. (turn in the holder) If you turn it off, it's off forever! So don't play with the switch! Just a thin sheet of paper, like plastic, can permanently stop the switch. Be careful not to accidentally hit it and be careful not to touch it when installing. I don't care about the quality of the work, it's an unacceptable design. I have yet to test the device, hopefully it works better
