Sturdy tool: my feedback

I occasionally need to cut PVC pipe for projects. This YIYITOOLS Tube and Pipe Cutter (42 mm size) will easily cut PVC pipe up to 42 mm (about 1 and 5/8ths inches) outside diameter. I received what the second photo says is the "old" version of the tool. Note that although the photos match, the listing text does not accurately describe the 42 mm size of the tool: there is no rubber on the handles, and the "safety buckle" at the end of the handles for holding them together when not in use is…

GREAT PRICE, EASY TO USE AND WELL MADE.

CAN BE A GREAT CUTTER FOR SMALL DIAMETER PIPES BUT DOES NOT WORK ON 2" PVC. I RETURNED BECAUSE THE CUTTER DOES NOT CUT EVENLY, IT CUTS AT ANGLES, THE BLADE BENDS A LITTLE WHEN FORCE IS APPLIED AND CANNOT BE ADJUSTED. THE BLADE IS STURDY BUT I THINK IT IS A MANUFACTURING ERROR .

MASSIVE PVC pipe cutter

I own a hand-sized pipe cutter from Home Depot that eventually dulled out and also stopped pushing out enough pressure to cut. Time for a replacement.This cutter is MASSIVE. I did not expect it to be so big. Good thing: you can cut up to 2 1/2" pipes. Bad thing: you have to dig a bigger hole in the dirt to get this cutter in all the way.

Sturdy, and can cut though wire.

I used this for cutting PVC and sealtight conduit for a project I was working on. (A mini split install.) I wanted something to make the job easier and work in tight places. I even found use with cutting wire bundles down to size. This made the job a lot easier because of that. I have sealtight coming from the wall mount evaporator to the condenser, and sealtight coming from the shut off outside to the condenser. I have rigid PVC going from the shutoff to the inside basement breaker. This made…

Works Great But Massive

There are several sizes of this tool and I opted for the one that will cut up to 2.5 inches of pvc. This thing is powerful and cuts all my pvc with ease. In hindsight, however, I wish I opted for the small version of this tool that cuts up to 1 inch as this thing is too big to cut sprinkler pvc in the ground unless I make the hole very big. For all above ground cutting needs, this is the tool for you. For sprinkler help, get the smaller version. As a brand, I can recommend.

Wonderfully clean and easy cuts for PEX tubing.

Extremely sharp blade provides smooth cuts on PEX tubing, with the handle providing more than sufficient leverage for an easy cut. Just be careful - this is the sort of tool that you don't want the kids anywhere near. Well-fabricated and completes a nice clean cut without difficulty.

Terrific value for my opinion

I continue to be impressed by Yiyi tools - this ratcheting cutter was heavy-duty feeling and worked very well; the ratchet was fairly smooth, although in order not to have PVC pipe crack, I had to score the pipe each time. No issues with vinyl at all. Would buy again.
