I'm at a well with a pressure tank. My water is free but I pay electricity to run a 220 volt pump. I also have to pay for electricity to run a lift pump to pump the sewage to the septic tank. (The shower is in the basement) My other expenses are natural gas to heat the water and electricity to run the vent on the water heater. Now when you pay 2.5 gallons per minute for water with a standard showerhead, all the costs add up. This item is very easy to install. All you need is a pair of pliers and just tighten them a little more than hand tight. Now it all depends on how the nozzle actually works and how much water is actually used. rough pattern. Like I said, I'm at a well with a pressure tank. The tank is 60psi and drops to 40psi when full. When the pressure changes, the flow pattern does not change. It works great for a fountain. So if you use city water without changing the water pressure, this head will work just fine. Now the question arises how much water the head actually uses. Decided to actually measure the flow rate. I have a bucket and a 2 liter measuring cup. I filled the bucket exactly 1 minute for the small pattern and 1 minute for the large pattern. Then I poured water into a measuring cup. Both models use less than 1 GPM. The fine pattern was measured at 3 quarts and 1 cup and the coarse pattern was measured at 3 quarts and 2 cups per minute. I couldn't be happier. have hard water. In this case, I might just see the minor maintenance, which consists of removing the shower head from time to time and soaking it in vinegar to break up the hard water buildup once you notice a change in flow pattern.
