This blanket is also without heating. The controls are simple and allow you to set it to a specific temperature (85 to 110 in 5 degree increments) and stay on for 30 minutes to 4 hours. It's nice enough to lift the covers and warm the bed while everyone else finishes packing and getting ready for bed. I've only had to wash the comforter once so far, but I've done well with a cold/gentle cycle using the dryer's low heat setting. Although the cable is easy to disconnect and reconnect, the connection is solid and I'm not concerned about long-term security. I also have a Vellax electric blanket which I ordered last year. , but I like the controller better on this Wemore throw. After all, they're both good in northern climates and I'm glad to have both.
