This product is made of lightweight, slightly flexible plastic, but it doesn't look super cheap. It closes easily, through the top hole where the plunger enters the lid, a little foam is squeezed out. I've tried a foam and liquid cleanser and I quickly and easily got a much thicker and creamier foam than I've ever gotten with my hands. The same amount of cleanser that would normally work on my face and neck creates enough lather to use on my face, neck, armpits and shoulders. As there are 2 packs I have one for my sister and she loves it too. I've wanted to try one of these for a long time but never got it, but now I'm a bit sorry for waiting so long. I've also noticed that it helps me identify which of my detergents leave marks. When I rinse the cup after use, I dip my fingers on the bottom to wipe away the residue. One of my detergents in particular leaves no residue on the bottom and now I feel better using this detergent. When I'm done with the cup, I place it upside down in the wire shower stall and hang the lid separately. Please remember that allowing bacteria to grow between uses is not good for your face. The biggest piece of advice I have is not to fill the cup to the maximum water mark. I use just enough water to almost cover the bottom of the cup. It makes the foam thicker, creamier and richer. If you want looser, more bubbly foam, I would use more water. I prefer my lather to be like shaving cream, so I've reduced the amount of water I use.
