The photos compare it to my thickest pillow at home (foam filled) which is about 2ft standard. The Klymit pillow is about 4 inches thick at maximum airflow, which is a good compromise between a thick pillow and a thin pillow. You can always let the air out if it seems too thick. I used this pillow for a week while traveling because I never liked the pillows I get in hotel rooms. I have to say I was pleasantly surprised at how comfortable it is. I downgraded it one star for not taking care of the cover, which was fine, but I put a cotton pillowcase on top and it looked more like my pillows at home. I also didn't like that it lost air overnight, which I'm sure is common with airbags, but it's still a pain to think about topping it up before bed. He only lost about a breath, so not much. It seemed to settle my head well. I would say it took no more than 6 breaths to fill it up.
