Review on Hypoallergenic, Dermatologist Recommended Mederma AG Hydrating Facial Cleanser - Exfoliate, Cleanse, and Hydrate Skin with Glycolic Acid by Wendy Smith

Unlike Cleansers

Agree with other reviewers. This is not the same product as Aqua Glycolic. I originally thought it was the same (although the ingredients have changed). Looks the same. He smells the same. He feels the same. But my skin is not the same. My face cleared up while using Aqua Glycolic. I had no pimples or blackheads. However, since switching to Mederma AG, my face has been congested and has started bleeding again. The current formula just doesn't peel as well as the previous formula. I never felt the need to use a physical scrub with the previous product, but now I feel like I need to use a grainy scrub to adequately exfoliate my face (which isn't good for acne-prone skin). I continue to use the current product because my skin feels better with it than without, but it's definitely inferior to the original. Once I find a product that compares to Aqua Glycolic I will not buy it again.

Pros
  • This Advanced Dry Skin Therapy line is hypoallergenic, fragrance and fragrance-free, soap-free (resulting in minimal irritation), non-comedogenic, and dermatologist-recommended. Can also be used to shave sensitive areas such as the bikini line, face or armpits
Cons
  • Everything is fine
