Review on 🪒 Dashing DOVO Diamant Straight Razor: Olivewood Handle + Sleek Black Blade - 5/8'' by Erica Welch

This razor is amazing! I recently bought a Dovo 5/8" semi blank razor for my first razor. He definitely wasn't ready to shave just yet, so I bought a full set of Naniwa sharpening rods and ended up getting him into better shape. But I decided to take a full trough for comparison and soon got this one. To be honest I haven't even tried shaving it straight out of the box. Instead, I first tested it on my whetstones (1k, 3k, 8k, 12k) and sanded it down before using it. The result was an amazing experience with a finely sharpened razor. It was way better than my other half. I went through the same thing and got a really good shave as a result. Obviously you need to pay some attention to the cutting edge of any razor you buy and I doubt anything is really ready to shave out of the box. But I would recommend the skipper to buy a half-empty grinder, which some recommend for beginners, and just keep grinding full.
