Review on Smyrna Turkish Herringbone Cotton Decorative by Danny Crowder

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Herringbone towels Not great but so-so

Color was good, product as advertised. But even for the expected thin Turkish towel, the texture and quality were only weak. I think herringbone weaving is important. But there are also seams on the sides that pull up a bit and make it look like a cheap product made in China. I've just washed/hanged them (no tumble dry) and haven't used them yet so can't comment on absorbency but as it's 100% cotton I'm sure they will absorb enough to be hand washed to become. The towels, on the other hand, were great! Same color/brand, Smyrna Turquoise, but the weave was (diamond?) and much stronger, with no weird stitching on the sides. Can't say towels are terrible - they're adequate - but they look oddly cheap compared to bath-size towels. They seem to be of the same quality/consistency.

Pros
  • Somewhat fair
Cons
  • Minor issues
