Nice and hot. good for active

I received this shirt last week and wore it for the first time this morning. It was 17 degrees outside. I had this under a long-sleeved cotton shirt (maybe it took away the moisture-wicking material, but I was still warm and it still worked) and then a lightweight waterproof zip-top running jacket. This stuff really works. When I was done, this base shirt was bone dry, but my cotton shirt and the outer layer of my coat were pretty damp! The shirt is very tight and very ugly on me. Even better than expected

I would like to start off by saying that I had almost no expectations for this baselayer. I like Columbia gear so I decided to give it a try. At first glance, I have to admit I also thought, hey, this all-in-one heat thing looks a bit silly. I mean, those are just little reflective dots. Come on. BUT when I got this I was working outside in a similar cheaper long sleeve shirt. It was about 50 degrees with a strong wind. It's okay, but I was a little cold. I put this thing on and after a fewโ€ฆ

BIG! Active Base Layers

This kept me warm during a week's skiing at Beaver Creek this winter. For a week I tried on this omniwarm shirt, the UA 2.0 shirt and the HH warm shirt. that's where the UA 2.0 shirt kept me warmest. However, it's like half the price!

Son-in-law says it's just what he wanted

This undershirt is perfect for cool weather activities. I expect him to see some action on a motorbike and then take off early on a cat.

Pros
  • Decent performance
Cons
  • Great price

Lightweight and warm

My husband bought one of these tops from Columbia and then ordered two more from Revain. He is an articulated lorry driver and drives through the snowy mountains several times a week, stopping to put his chains on and off along the way. He loves them because they are lightweight and not bulky like regular long underwear and flannel shirts. He can wear it under a Carhart style work shirt and still stay warm with enough flexibility when he needs it. Have washed it in cold water (laid to dry) aโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Sequins

  • Minor issues

Amazing quality in active base layers

I use it for work. I have a car wash and work all winter! I use it under fabric/wool and then under a nice sweatshirt. That works great. The more you work and move. the hotter you get In good physical shape - I'm 6'2", slim and lanky, with long arms. I have a tall one. Tall nice, tight and lean, but arms are always nice and long! Great fit. I usually wear medium. Anyway, the size runs larger as it has a nice slim fit.

Pros
  • Great for me
Cons
  • Frequency

warm! Active Base Layers

I had no idea a thin, high-tech shirt could keep me so warm. When I first learned to snowboard on a sunny 40ยฐF day, I was down to this base layer and I'm still sweating. After many falls, accidents and 6 washes, the original quality seems good and the tech really works in it.

Pros
  • Looks Good
Cons
  • Has Problems

This is the men's base layer

My main concern when purchasing this item was that I couldn't find it in stores so I had no idea what size it would be or how warm it would actually be . . (1) Get the next size up. I'm a true psychic and the big one is still cramped (not uncomfortable) in the box and I can't roll up my sleeves without interrupting some blood keeps me warm when my heart rate rises and even when I stop for short periods of time .

Pros
  • Absolute Legend
Cons
  • There are cons
