Runs small, one size bigger! We used them on the beach to protect against jellyfish bites and UV rays. They worked great but they were very tight, like yoga pants. I would take an accurate sizing and be aware that boys may not like this as it is tight in the crotch.

I bought two pairs of these for my 7 year old son. He is 50% for weight and height and I ordered him a size 8. They were sooooo tight and short on him. If I were to buy them again I'd probably go at least two sizes up given how incredibly tight they fit him.

The size chart is a bit small. I measured my son and thought a size 8 was the right fit, but when the pants arrived they were tighter and shorter than I expected. Though he still liked it. I went ahead and bought 10 as he loved the pants so much and they still fit him with little room to grow. My son doesn't like shorts and we live in Florida and swim all the time, these shorts are great!
