It was fairly easy to install, I hard wired it to a programmable timer as I didn't think it should be running 24/7 and I didn't want to disturb it and shutdown. I only bought it to dry towels, I don't care about a warm towel, just dry. Advertising was misleading. I ordered this item thinking I had a 25.5 inch heating rod that would go perfectly with my towels. The actual length of the heater rod is only 17 inches so it doesn't make full contact with my bath towels. After installing and setting it up I went back and read the entire description and indeed at the bottom of the entire print it said the actual heating rods were 17 inches.
