Doesn't fit LS motor

Doesn't fit my LS motor as described. The tool's inner hole is too small to fit on the crankshaft and now my project sits still while I wait for the right tool. Very disappointing

Pros
  • Excellent design
Cons
  • Some little things

Worked after grinding

Worked after using a grinding wheel with a dremel and opening ID .020". Saved me some money but cheaper chinese junk as usual. LS2. Maybe some have ls motors outside different diameter of the crank, but this product does not explicitly state this.

Pros
  • Free for educational purposes
Cons
  • Doubtful

Wrong tool dimensions

Worked on a 2001 LS1 5.3, the tool didn't slide on the front of the crank. (No burrs on the crank) I had to grind the inside of the tool until the inside diameter was large enough to slide over the crank. After that, the tool worked as expected. It's okay, but processing the tool properly wouldn't hurt.

Pros
  • Pretty packaging
Cons
  • Almost OK

WILL NOT FIT LQ4 CRANKSHAFT

They are made in China so who knows if I'm just at a loss but so can you. That's the problem with poor quality control. It was too tight to fit the crankshaft on my 6.0 LQ4. I ended up using an old bottom gear to center the cap, hopefully it doesn't leak.

Pros
  • Great overall performance
Cons
  • Hard to tell

It worked great! on Couplers & Parts

I thought it was a two step process to align the cover and install the gasket, but you put the new gasket on the cover first and then everything aligns. It's well worth it if you set everything up, put the cap on the handle, then slide over the handle and through the cap and start unscrewing. Absolutely perfect!

Pros
  • Several competitors
Cons
  • unreliable
