It was very soft material which was nice since I had to wear it all night during a military function. It says to hand wash but I have that setting on my washing machine and hung it to dry. These are just what I was wanting. I appreciate the number of books and the shelf at the bottom — which is great for holding a phone or a wallet. These were a little difficult to install though because of the inability to see where to mark the screw holes when it is placed against the wall. Gorgeous paper. The shimmer is lovely. It's VERY thick, and would not go through our office's large copier. It did go through the small laser printer, but the ink smeared all over the paper so we cannot utilize it to make the awards and certificates we had planned. Bought these and just love them. They are made of stainless steel and have a nice weight to them. We just love them and they are a great price!
