As expected, the heartshrink that comes with these butt crimp splices does not offer enough end protection for my comfort. Fortunately I only bought these for the butt connectors and not the heat shrink. The butt crimps work great. So now you know what to expect. (Pictured are the 16-24 and 12-10 awg. This was the second purchase of this item for my husband. The first were too small sand I returned them. I went larger on the second order. They fit better but tend to slip up and down on the heel as he walks. I won't return these but will try to make them work with some elastic addition. This coupling elastomer is a complete waste of money. It doesn't work as ADVERTISED and constantly slips, causing the whole system to malfunction .The only positive aspect is that it is made from durable material. They're soft which is nice but that's about it. The flats that go over the bra strap to hold them in is to flimsy and small. I have less than an inch straps but I can't use the flaps. The pads slide around or the strap falls off.See full review

I need some 1/2 T-Nuts. Can't find them at the local big box stores or on amazon, so it was going to be pretty pricy to get them from a specialty hardware mail order store. I used these instead, installing them in some 1/8 thick scrap metal plate, then I mounted the plate with four screws in the corners.
