Based on my observations these shelves are not suitable for home and kitchen use. While the design is modern and sleek, the reality is that they are unstable and unreliable. The shelves are difficult to install and tend to sag or tilt even when following the instructions carefully. I wanted this to be a nice *decorative piece* I will add, the maps (seams) on the map don't line up perfectly, but it's a decorative globe not a teaching globe. This is a nice futon cover. I am using it on a very, very old but good quality futon that has served as my bed on and off and also as a great bed for tent camping. The futon itself is only about four inches thick so I was worried that it would be too loose, but it fits pretty good. Seems like an 8 inch futon would be kind of tight. Its only mildly suede-like.
