Much thicker than I expected. Great for cooler weather. It isn't quite wide enough in the hips though. I don't have big hips but I AM a woman. If you pull it down all the way it's tight at the bottom. And it works it's way up a little do that it bunches instead of hanging like the picture makes you think. My little broken space alien kitty was a super unhappy kitty who could only walk backwards while wearing the e-collar provided by the vet.
