This cot is quite comfortable with a 2 inch foam pad. If you intend to camp out for more than a day or two, it is vastly superior to sleeping on the ground or on a pad on the ground. It felt solid and sturdy and was long enough for my 5'11" height. I suspect that the weak link over time will be the plastic components, but it should last a good long time if it is taken care of. The first ones they sent me broke in 4 minutes, but after I emailed them within 8 days, new racks were at my door. Great ski racks! The fit is a bit tight, but overall functional in nature. The locking mechanism can be a bit finicky at times but overall works fine. Please remember! Put key in, turn counter clockwise, open rack, put skis in, shut rack, turn key clockwise. I love these! I somehow overlooked the fact that there are two in each purchase, so I ordered two sets! One of the sets has a remote that doesn't work at all, so I'm taking off a star for that dissatisfaction. The remote is needed to set the timer, so, luckily, my mistake gave me two remotes, and the other one does work.
