Golem is an Ethereum based cryptocurrency that was created to allow sharing computing power via the Ethereum network. Everyone has access to the GNT network to do graphical rendering, data analysis etc. with reduced costs. Also everyone with computing hardware can participate with Golem and rent out their resources for an automated income.
