The temperature control os the only thing automatic about this. The rollers are not very useable as my womens size 8 feet just fit so rolling them forward and back is pretty much useless. When I used this PS to run a small amplifier, there was a low background hum that didn't change volume when the volume knob was turned. I put in a different PS, one that came with an old hard drive, and the hum went away. It would be nice if someone could test these PS's to evaluate power fluctuations. This SCANNER is a complete letdown. Thanks to my knowledge gained in practice, I was excited to try this one out. However, the quality of the scans is poor, with many documents coming out blurry or with text that is too faint to read. The only good thing I have to say is that it is relatively easy to set up, but that's not enough to make up for the lack of functionality and quality.
