Since the lightning and c are omnidirectional, I assume that a unidirectional USB microcontroller should be used as the main controller. Or is it just what they went for because they had all those micro USB heads lying around, still the cable works fine for Android Auto and Apple Car Play so I bought them. My personal Android phone and my work phone are iPhones, so I can use both without having to switch cables!

Why is a product that could have been great so bad? With 2 out of 3 fully reversible ports, why does Anker choose to use a micro-USB as the main cable to double check which way the port is facing every time you need to connect a lamp or USB-C adapter? It's really frustrating. If there's a good reason I couldn't use a micro-USB as the primary connector, then why not put a simple color code on each side to avoid the inconvenience of checking how the connector should be. Since this product has a lifetime warranty, I expected much better. After using it CAREFULLY for a month, I was surprised to wake up one night to find my phone had a 9% charge despite clearly being plugged in. I first used it while walking around with a USB battery pack and an iPhone. After about 20 minutes I found that my phone was no longer charging and that the Lightning adapter had just slipped off the end. I put it back in and it quickly happened over and over again. Overall I'm a fan of Anker products because you can count on their quality and durability. This is especially true for their cables. However, they fell short, at least in terms of usability.
