Description of 💻 Apple Mac Mini 2020 Tiny-Desktop, M1 Chip, 256GB SSD, 8-core Apple Graphics, macOS, Silver

Compact and elegant, Mac mini is an advanced next-generation computer that''s even more powerful with the Apple M1 chip. Now graphics are processed 6 times faster than before, and processor power has increased by 3 times, while the dimensions have not changed - Mac mini still does not take up much space and fits perfectly into any interior thanks to its unique design. Apple M1 is the heart and the brain of the computer, whose computing power takes Mac mini to the next level. The chip combines both a conventional computing processor and a graphics processor and a machine Neural Engine system that allows Mac mini to work even faster. And that''s not all - energy efficiency has increased significantly, and the amount of heat generated has been significantly reduced. Apple M1 combined 16 billion transistors, which was a record for Apple. The chip is based on 5-nanometer technology specifically for next-generation computers and is optimized for maximum performance with minimum power consumption.

The product is really good, Im glad I bought it.

The sensations are twofold, my expectations did notcomincide with reality, the marketers served everything deliciously, but in reality the dish was raw. In some places you feel like a beta tester, I did not expect this from apple. This does not fit with the ideology of apple at all, everything should be simple, intuitive, not noticeable and work out of the box. It seems that here is the only honest review that describes a whole bunch of problems that almost everyone has. On the other hand…

Pros
  • - Silent It keeps the cooler speed at about 1700, it has never been raised higher, at these speeds there is complete silence. - Cold It does not heat up even when editing a video, it was possible to heat up a little when synchronizing a large number of small files with the cloud. Yes, and then warmed up to 32 gr. Total. - Powerful Pulls any tasks, it seems impossible to load it so that it starts to slow down. - Small You can put or hang it anywhere, you can take it with you on vacation or wear it to work :) - Apps for iOS and iPad work Please note that not all applications are in the App Store, many developers hide versions for iPhone on Mac OS, so you will not use all the applications that are installed on your phone. But those that are - work without problems. - Apps for Intel work fine On the ARM architecture, they run through the emulator, but this happens imperceptibly and I did not see any problems. All OK.
Cons
  • - Not as powerful as expected. Basically, it is compared with the Macs of previous generations on Intel. Compared to them - yes, powerful, but there are other PCs. I compare with i7-3770K / SSD / 32GB DDR3 / GTX 1660 and in many tasks I do not see a speed increase. - Software bugs Hangs when working with network drives, reboots when editing and saving files to a network or cloud drive, communication with BT devices is interrupted, errors with sleep mode. - Bugs in background apps under load Apparently, on the new architecture, active applications can take resources from background applications, and this causes unexplained troubles to appear in background applications under heavy loads. For example, the music stops and the history and playback queue are erased. Hotkeys and gestures bound through third-party software are disabled (hello Logitech). After 5-10 minutes everything starts working again. - Cuts USB speeds The speed of external SSDs via USB-A and USB-C is no more than 370 MB / s - this is 3 Gb / s instead of the declared 5 Gb / s, the same drives on a MacBook with Intel and on a PC operate at speeds of about 510 MB / s. - Only 2 Thunderbold ports The Intel version has 4 ports, which is optimal in my opinion. For normal use, at least one more TB3 port is missing: 1 - monitor, 2 - monitor, 3 - SSD and 4 port in reserve. Here you have to suffer with 2 ports. - Not all resolutions are available with HDMI connection On 4K 32-inch monitors, the most conveniently scaled resolution is 3008x1692, it is available only when connected via TB3. - At 4K resolution, the interface sometimes twitches Noticeable in the animations of Launchpad and Mission Control, not critical, but I would like smoothness everywhere. - No configurations with a 10Gb network card - No space gray color - Windows installation is not yet available Perhaps this will be fixed next year, it seems that work is underway on this. But not now.

No complaints, I recommend the product for purchase.

I have a 4k android TV, it constantly pops its series-channels from the built-in store, sometimes the sound disappears, yesterday I threw it out of the YouTube application four times. And to this box, you can pick up a hard drive with movies-series, immediately delete it after viewing, sometimes play without turning on the game computer. Pros: Stable OS, everything you need to work (office applications). Low power consumption, higher performance and stable performance than set-top box or TV…

Good product for me, no problems at all.

Everything works at lightning speed, it’s perfect for most cases, but if you are a developer, then 8 GB of ram may not be enough. Also, because of m1, you may have to dance with a tambourine. Especially with docker.

Great value for money, one of the best offers.

Was concerned at first because of the monitor. Allegedly, only a very small number of them fit the mini, and it is impossible to look at the rest of the picture. In practice, an old DELL U2410 monitor connected via HDMI shows the same way as with previous computers. Although not Retina, it is quite acceptable for everyday tasks and casual games. Minik itself is of course suitable for everything. A funny detail - there is Siri, but you can’t use it without an external USB microphone)) But this…

Pros
  • Performance, quietness and virtually no heat
Cons
  • no built-in microphone

Different pros: Great working machine! Compatibility with applications previously installed on the old computer is complete. Docker works, I run Windows applications through Vine. Got cons: Problems only with the Brew console application have not yet been solved. Need to reinstall.

Valuable purchase, nothing but pluses!

About accessories. I highly recommend using the original Magic Mouse 2. Perhaps not everyone will be comfortable with its shape, but this is compensated by its functionality and appearance. It looks very nice, it itself consists of a touch panel, it is unrealistically convenient to manage swipes, switch applications (similar to alt tab), return to the previous page and back on a tab on the Internet. The wheel is made as a swipe with one finger, very convenient, there have never been false…

Pros
  • -Power. Compared to previous versions on intel. I do not notice any brakes and jerks, everything flies. -Fast SSD. - Ecosystem. -Accessories. - Noiselessness. -Frame. -Support Apple. -Inclusion speed. - System ate. More details below. -About the power. Before that, I had a MacBook Air on Intel 2022, worth 95 thousand, I compare it with it. It is absolutely quiet here, the fan has never heard. On the MacBook, the turntables were noisy even in the browser, no programs could be launched, even the GFN cloud service wildly heated the computer. Here the computer is always cold. Even running a demanding game, he became a little warm, but there was no noise from the turntables. I don’t know about performance, I don’t do professional tasks. In ordinary tasks it feels great, and I play on the console. About integrated graphics. On a MacBook with a built-in Intel, even Minecraft at the minimum did not pull. Here you can easily run Minecraft for children, undemanding toys. In House flipper on minimum settings it gives out 180 fps. High 60s, ultra 40s. Obviously not much, but this is not a gaming machine. For embedding, these are excellent indicators. -About the body and dimensions. The computer itself is very small relative to the PC, to compare photos with some items. But the case could be smaller, the engineers apparently did not have time or were too lazy to rework it. Half of the case is simply free, the iron takes up very little space. Theoretically, this could fit into a slightly larger Apple TV case. The case itself is completely metal (except for the back panel), it feels nice and premium, it is made very high quality, everything is perfect, there are no complaints. As for incompatible applications, I have never been hurt by the fact that some applications are missing or something does not work. For me personally, everything is perfect here and everything works.
Cons
  • -Old building. -Empty kit. - Lack of Windows.

If in doubt whether to take it or not, take it. He takes everything out! My use case: 2-3 browsers at the same time, on average from 30 to 50 tabs open, photoshop, figma, word, excel and some software with iOS. Yes, swap is used, of course, under such loads, but nothing is unloaded from the RAM, as it was, for example, on a laptop with 8GB of RAM at lower loads. I also put affinity photo and pixelmator, everything works fine.

Pros
  • Switched from Windows, got used to the new operating system in a few days. I would never have thought that 8GB of RAM is capable of this, and until the Mac Mini was turned on, I was waiting for a catch, but everything is just super. The speed of work is excellent.
Cons
  • Wired mouse turns off after waking up from sleep mode. This bug did not appear immediately, I have not yet found a solution. Only reboot helps. For a while, I generally turned off going to sleep on the computer.

Pros: INCREDIBLY FAST. I have a minimal version and everything just flies) the transition from the old macbook pro 2022 was clearly worth it Cons below: you need to buy everything for the mini in the literal sense: keyboard, mouse, trackpad, speakers, monitor, microphone. Calculate your option and compare with the new imac ohm. Not all monitors are perfect for mac mini!
